ARE YOU A VOLUNTARY GROUP WHICH PROVIDES SERVICES TO IRISH PEOPLE IN BRITAIN OR IS INVOLVED IN IRISH HERITAGE, WELFARE OR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES WITH THE IRISH COMMUNITY?
If so, you may be eligible for a grant from the Irish Government towards relevant costs in 2010.
The Irish Government provides funding to assist agencies and organisations in their provision of advice and support to the Irish community in Britain.
Our mission is to promote the continued contribution of Irish people in Britain to British society and to support those voluntary agencies which facilitate access to welfare and statutory services to members of the Irish community. Provision of services to older members of our community remains a particular priority.
The Irish Government may provide a grant towards the salary costs of professional staff for agencies offering services for vulnerable Irish people in Britain. Grants will also be available to contribute towards running costs associated with funded posts. The Irish Government will also consider applications from Irish community-based groups involved in heritage activities which are of benefit to the community in Britain. Limited funding may also be available for projects of a capital nature.
Applications are particularly welcome from organisations who have not applied before and/or new projects in geographic areas not previously assisted.
Applications for the 2010 Emigrant Support Program will be accepted as of 8th March. Click here to access the online application. Applications will be accepted until close of business on 15th April.
